Here are some of the most frequently asked questions from parents and players about our Competitive Soccer Program.
Players will be placed on teams that reflect their current level of ability and development. We rank our teams by the designations Gold, Silver and Bronze with Gold being our top team
The Gold team has the first right to offer positions on their team if openings occur. CYS roster limits teams to eighteen players each, but most coaches prefer sixteen players per team. Coaches decide how much playing time a player gets during games, which is dependent on attendance at practices, attitude and effort. Teams practice two to three times a week. Each team also attends a team camp before the start of the Fall season as well as a pre-season tournament before the Fall and Spring.
How are age levels determined?
Teams are formed age groups not by grades, For fall 2008 and spring 2009 these age groups are:

Special Note! U10 players may play on a U11 competitive team if they meet the following conditions:
1. Player will be in the 5th grade this Fall
2. The Player played on a U10 team this Spring
All older players may play up 2 age groups without permission from CYS

Nova's fee for competitive soccer is based on a player registration fee, pre-paid tournaments and coaching stipend.
GOLD Teams are coached by either A or B level coaches
SILVER & BRONZE Teams are coached by B or C level coaches.
INTACT Teams bring their own coach; D-Level. If teams want, they may hire a coach. Intact teams do not pay for tournaments or for the coaching stipend
