1. Provide every child that desires, the opportunity to play soccer regardless of family situation.
2. Foster an enduring love for soccer in our players, long after they have left youth sports.
3. Teach fair play, self-confidence, leadership & good citizenship skills.
4. Develop individual and team skills of players through high quality training and coaching.

WELCOME TO THE HEART OF BOULDER SOCCER!

We are Boulder's oldest and largest soccer club.  Founded in 1975, we provide the youth of Boulder with the most comprehensive soccer program in the county.  If your child  just wants to kick the ball on a weekend or strive for the highest level of soccer, NOVA has the program to fit.

Where possible, we form teams by schools, so friends can play together and practice in their neighborhoods.  Teams range in age from Kindergarten through high school.

To get started, all you need to do is send in a registration form. You can find the registration forms with the menu on the left. To know more about our programs, please read on.

CLUB COMPARISONS 1st - 4th grade

What sets Nova apart from the other Boulder clubs is the emphasis on training the young soccer player. FUN increases with skill, and skill increases with good training.  Since the vast majority of coaches are parents with limited ability to teach soccer, Nova provides free, professional team and individual training for 1st through 4th grade teams & players.

Nova has the best program around because we concentrate on prfessional training and fun.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS!

What makes NOVA work are the parents volunteers.   They are essential to NOVA and to your child's team.

The vast majority of teams in NOVA rely on volunteer coaches, officials and managers. Advanced teams have professional coaches and official.  Intermediate teams and 5th grade & older teams have professional officials.  Volunteers are needed in the other positions.

Parents manage, coach and officiate their team and they help with running the club.  Without their effort their child's team would not be able to function.  Like BJS, the NOVA registration form reads "If you are unwilling to volunteer your time, please DO NOT register your child".

NOVA offers the vehicle for forming teams, renting field space, buying equipment, locating coaches and offering clinics, but it is the team parents that make their team a successful and enjoyable experience.

Registration for Fall COMPETITIVE TEAMS is done at tryouts.  Tryouts for U11 - U14 teams are held the first Tuesday after the  Memorial Day Weekend.  For High School boys, they are held in November.  Please visit our Competitive Tryout page for more information.  Intact recreational teams may also switch to the advanced league at these times and will be placed in the bottom competitive bracket.

TEAM AGE GROUPINGS

All CYS clubs, group teams by their age groups which tend to align with school grades.  By CYS rules, a player may play up one age group, but may not play down at all.  The only exception to playing up is for U11 Competitive Teams.  On those teams, any player playing up must also be in the 5th grade.

To know what age group your child will be in for the 2007 Soccer year (Fall & Spring) Answer this question: "How old will/was the player on July 31, 2007?"  If the player was be 10 years old, then he/she is an Under 11 (U11) player.
